a photo of everyone on their 3DSes playing mario kart on local play.

We were back in M-SParc on Bangor High Street for this one, and we’re grateful for Rhodri who had to do a quick tidy up from the repair café the previous day! People drifted in from 11 as usual, and the day started off by featuring the new Mario Wonder updates.

At 12pm we started the league session, with the “Mario” part of the theme, so obviously today that meant using Mario Wonder’s new update!

People experienced the new update by playing free-for-all:
1) Tip Tap’s Coin Spree

2) Boo’s Coin Spree

3) KO Arena: Bellabel Stadium.

We had a break for freeplay after that, and most of that gap was people popping out for food, and myself playing Pokopia on the big screen (no photos, sorry!) We did see some other games on the smaller screens though, including Ultimate Chicken Horse, and it was nice to see the two younger members enjoying a game together too!

Due to members being asked to bring their 3DSes for round 2 of our league, and also by coincidence, Glyn asking his friends to bring their 3DSes for some Mario Kart 7, there was plenty to go around.

There was a perfect space for 3DS multiplayer, and they got some games in of both Mario Kart 7 and Mario Kart DS. They had a few connection issues, but realised that all their phones were interfering with the connection, so once removed, the session ran more smoothly!

Then it was time for round 2 of the league!

Rhythm Paradise Megamix for the rhythm bit of the league, on 3DS!

In teams of 4, it was common to see the players bobbing up and down (and occasionally sideways) to the beat! But they all had headphones on, so it was quite amusing to watch!

“Simplicity is Best” was the chosen challenge, as we wanted to make it accessible where we could.

  1. Karate Man
  2. Spaceball
  3. LumBEARJack

We were a bit short of time by this point, as the 3DS rounds took a bit longer than anticipated, so we did the raffle and the group photo next before the two player tie breaker between Will and Drn!

Caption this??

The tie breaker had to be attempted twice as both Drn and Will died at the same time on the first attempt. (Forklifter) On the second attempt, Drn just grabbed the winning spot and chose the Drum plush from the goody bag! But also not forgetting a congratulations to Will for getting his first ever 10 points!

We meant to take more photos of Mario Wonder, but it didn’t feature as much as Pokopia did in the end, but here’s some screenshots of what we got in the quieter moments 🙂
