Mysterious May 23/05/26

We arrived just after 10, to Rhys who was hosting us in Storiel!

We got set up straight away and put new game Yoshi & the Mysterious Book on the big screen for people to play. A handful of people took turns on it until it was time for round 1 of the league.
I’d previously got stuck on a bit of Yoshi’s game, but Michael worked it out easily enough!

We began round 1 of the league half an hour earlier because Dylan had predicted it would take longer than average. It actually took us over 2.5 hours to get through everyone, because we had the most people who’d ever signed up for league, with 25 entries (not everyone got to play in the end either, and the odd number hindered that too)
The chosen game for round 1 was Beat the Beat on the Wii, as a nod to our next event in July, which will be based around the new Rhythm Heaven Game due out on Switch 2.

Some struggled to get through the tutorial, but other members ended up helping them to time their clicks just right.

The 3 games were “Tambourine”, “Rocket Launch” and “Ringside”
Despite the difficulties most people had fun, and it was nice to have an actual group of kids that we could put together, so everyone was sort of on an even keel.

Because round 1 took sooo long, we had to go straight on to round 2 of the league! (Very apologetic that we couldn’t get Yoshi’s Mysterious Book out again!)

In the meantime, the group using the second screen opted to play some rounds of Mario Kart and Smash, and a bit of Tennis was spotted too.

Round 2 was the mario league, and this time we went back to Mario Party Jamboree, with “Yoshi’s Mountain Rescue” – It was essentially like a traditional platformer, but a bit more 3D!

It was also nice to see the mums joining in for this one, plus the 4 kids all together in one group.

This ended up in a tie breaker between Illtud and Em.

Em and Illtud both got 84 points… so we had to do a tie breaker of the tie breaker!
Micro Row caused the first draw…
