It was a very hot and sunny day, in the middle of Bangor Summer Fest (Storiel’s grounds were actually being used too) but we had our room inside Storiel with air conditioning, so we were happy!
We arrived around 10.30 to set up, and people as usual started drifting in from 11am.
In total we got almost 30 in attendance, but some popped in and out, and around 20 stayed all day.
Today only had the league for content, as we wanted plenty of space and to not be rushing about.
Round 1 of the league was the expected Mario Party Jamboree round. Using mouse controls, people had to file emails/letters into the correct inboxes (Bowser Filter)
We saw quite a bit of Mario Kart World on the second screen and various consoles in handheld mode around the room.
We got through Bowser Filter pretty quickly as it was a single round, so we had a decent gap for people to go and explore the summer festival/get their lunch.
The 2nd round of the league began at 2.30pm.
Again on Mario Party Jamboree, with mouse controls! but this time we played “Stuffie Stacker” (Where you had to build a tower and be the tallest by the end.) There seemed to be two strategies. Spam items and hope for the best, or carefully place them and build an actual tower. Results were mixed, and some of the most strategic people ended up falling short as their tower collapsed in those important final 3 seconds…
We ended up with a 4 way tie breaker at the end: Dale, Callum, Michael and Rhodri.
We had to do it in pairs as we only had 2 grips for the Switch 2 Joycons available.

There was some fierce competition and plenty of own goals! but the top 2 went through to a grand final.
Dale v Callum on bob-omb Makeover. It ended up being so close, but Dale pinched the victory and won himself the yellow custom dice!
Of course we then finished with our raffle and group photo (Thanks to Sam for taking)
