Back in M-SParc again this month, so we were greeted by Rhodri, and got set up in time for 11am.
John had brought his collection of Zelda amiibo for people to scan.
People appreciated that, and they were used throughout the day!
We had about 20 people across the day, which suited the venue perfectly.
We gave everyone a bit of time to set up, settle and catch up with friends. Of course the first game to be spotted on the big screen was Just Dance 2023!
We kicked off with round 1 of the league at 12pm. Starting with “Normal” VS. with players (in order) choosing their favourite track, any setup. There were only 3 players in the team, the fourth track was random.
Soon after, we began our Age of Calamity Challenge. Time to knockout 500 enemies!
John set the bar high by going first, but since only 9 people entered, we were able to give everyone two attempts. Em wiped the floor with the previous scores, with a time 10 seconds quicker than John’s!
She came away with an IOU for £15 eShop credit!
There were plenty of small gaps for people to nip into town, and the way the names worked seemed to be divine timing!
We also encourage StreetPasses, so it was novel when Glyn found “Shaun the Sheep” for a bargain just down the road!
Onwards to Round 2 of the league. Because of how the name draws worked, only two people were able to come out on top, so after racing on the non-mario tracks, in Link’s Zelda specific setup, Em and Rhodri found themselves in the tie breaker.
The tie breaker was a single VS race.
It was very tight all the way but Em just pipped Rhodri to the post, winning the Luigi hat, and the fiver!
I actually forgot the group photo this time, even though I’d referenced it earlier in the day! oh well! We have a group photo of John’s amiibo, so that will have to do!
The raffle was small, but on theme, and people loved the puzzle, notebook and the playing cards! (Plus the poster was the first to be chosen, and the bracelet is always the last prize.)
