It was a warm summer’s day, and we’d stocked up on plenty of snacks for everyone. The doughnuts went down a storm (Thank you Tim!)
It was a pretty chilled start, as we opened the sign ups and raffle, then allowed a gap for people to catch up and practice, while others went to get some lunch.
The only actual scheduled event was the Mario Kart Qualifier, so either side of that was perfect for free playing whatever people fancied.
Free play games included: Zelda BOTW, Neon White, ElecHead, Tux And Fanny, Portal 2, Good Job, and Fall Guys. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredders Revenge got interrupted by the need to start the official NPUK Mario Kart Qualifier!
The tournament saw 16 participants and double elimination.
The first group ended up in a tie for 2nd and 3rd place, so we did a single 1v1 race with CPU to decide the “winner”
Tim was doing pretty well but near the end of the 3rd lap on most of his races, he kept getting “Mario Karted”, so ended up in a humble 3rd position!
It was the top two that got the tickets to the final in the autumn though, so congratulations to Glyn and Em for winning those spots; and because Glyn won our March Mario Kart Tournament, the trophy was passed to Em.
The Piranha Plant lamp was pretty sought after, and a familiar face, Jade, was the lucky one to win that prize!
We remembered the group photo this time too! Hope everyone had fun!
We decided that we enjoyed the outdoor meets last year, so we’ll be meeting outside in Llandudno next month! Keep an eye on our socials for details!
