The well-timed Mario Kart booster pack came out the day before the event, so it was a no brainer to do a Mario Kart Tournament based on the new tracks.
Back at Acme Games in Llandudno, and the weather was actually quite warm this time round.
There was free play either side of the main tournament, but people mainly just got stuck into Mario Kart. At one point there were three separate groups all playing the same tracks!
There was a bit of Dr. Mario seen during the day.
The prizes were kinda cool too…
The tournament took place exactly halfway through the day, with 11 people entered. we had two groups of 4, and one group of 3, who raced against each other in the Golden Dash Cup. Points were tallied up.
The groups were then shuffled and they played the Lucky Cat Cup.

The top 4 went through to a final.
Four races:
- Everyone chose a random track, and then Jen chose a random number between 1 and 4. (3) Melody Motorway
- Second track was audience choice: Cheese Land.
- Jen chose a number between 1-64: 47 – Super Bell Subway
- Loser’s Choice: Ninja Hideaway
Glyn won with a clear victory, totalling 111 points in the rounds, and coming out on top again in the final.
He won the very much coveted Special Cup trophy!
We rounded off the event where we drew the raffle, and then a few of us played Just Dance as everyone else was packing up and leaving.
Glyn said that evening: “This will definitely be an event to remember!”
Congrats to him, and well done everyone else! We will of course be back next month. We’re not sure where or how yet, but it’ll almost certainly be on the 23rd!
