Back in Acme Games Llandudno again, so thanks to Claire and Alex for enabling us to hold meets again!
Jen had to nip out before the start of the event, but everyone had a chilled start at noon, some freeplay games got going on portable mode, as the tables were set up ready for the quiz at 1pm.
The quiz got underway on time, some did it in pairs, and others did it as individuals!
Dylan was the host, and he’d written the quiz – it was a tricky one, but sadly no live music round this year as there was no way that Jen was lugging her keyboard up to the second storey!
Drn seemed to have a weird obsession with “Dave” and only one person remembered when the year of Luigi was?! (come on guys, this group got going in September 2013 after visiting “StreetPass Manchester” for their “Big Luigi” event in 2013 😉 )
The highest score was 17, and the prize was £10 cash, so well done to Efrog & Freuer for winning that!
Most people got around 13/14… most didn’t have a clue about years or names, but at least most people got the silhouette quiz?!

We had a bit of a break so people nipped out for food, and others stayed and played some games.

the tournament of the day was the newly released “Big Brain Academy: Brain vs Brain”.
Everyone took part, and the top four went through to the final. John came out on top, winning himself an acme store voucher! (Well, an IOU for one 😛 )

In Llandudno it was also the big Christmas parade, so we heard most of the show through the window upstairs.

And last but not least we had our mystery raffle!
Jen really enjoyed wrapping up the presents in 2019, so she decided to do it again but make it even more mysterious by putting each item in a box!
The rules were: You’re not allowed to shake or feel anything, one you’ve touched it you have to claim it. One prize per person. If you want to swap your prize after then if it’s agreed that’s fine.
No one actually swapped in the end, and prizes included a small charmander plush, a metallic mario kart bottle, splatoon pins, animal crossing accessories, pacman socks, and some mario lego!

And to finish off, apparently John “got decorated”!

Happy Christmas to all in the community, and keep an eye on our socials for when our January event is!
We were thanked in our discord channel by the regulars that we managed to get up and running again before the end of 2021, and given that Jen is all about the physical meets, everyone is so happy that we still have that sense of strong community, even though lockdown tried to tear us apart…!
2022 is going to be amazing! See you on the other side!
