January Mini Meet 2022 15/01/22

We usually ease into the year with a mini’ish’ meet in January, which generally means a small raffle, and freeplay all day! That’s exactly what we did!

Between the hours of 12 and 5, many games were played. We had one TV and the rest played on handheld mode.

“Tux & Fanny” proved popular, and was the latest review to be written by our own John for the Indie Insights for Nintendo Players UK!
From an outsider’s perspective, it looked very random, colourful, musical and just…. odd!

WHAT THE DUCK?!

Other games included Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Tetris Effect and Just Dance right at the end!

Tetris Effect was fun, and with three formidable Tetris players, we made great progress! Except when we died on Insane mode, it reset us back to “easy”, so that confused us a couple of times!
We were happy with our play though!

It was actually John’s birthday too! At the end there’s sadly no pictures, but the 4 females dancing to Just Dance looked like they were doing a show for him, and when that was suggested, he went bright red!!

There was also a special request from one of the regulars to bring our 3DSes, so he managed to get loads of StreetPasses akin to the “old days”- He was made up!

The raffle had an obvious favourite with Detective Pikachu being probably the softest plush Pikachu we’d ever come across!

A few of us go to a local pub for tea to wind down after the event, (and this time to celebrate John’s birthday of course!) The member of staff who served us was either super tired or just loopy!
Firstly he started off by mishearing “Rekorderlig” for cordial and came back with a pint of Orange Squash! Awkward!
But that was topped towards the end when he was taking our dessert orders, and repeated back with “so that’s two Cadbury’s Nipples?” We laughed so much (Jen cried!)
It all makes for the great memories though… we think it tops the Americano pizza/coffee mistake!
