September Silksong 13/09/25

We chose a relatively laid back event today, to give people chance to catch up and to see the featured game “Silksong” (as it’s a 1 player game, but quite popular, we couldn’t make a tournament out of it!)

Everyone drifted in from 11 as usual, and got settled mainly onto one table… but the first thing we saw was multiplayer Mario Kart World Knockouts, with many portable setups around but centred from the big screen.

Once 12pm hit, we were ready for Round 1 of our league.
The first round is always Mario Party, and some of the more observant might have picked up on a theme.
This event’s league theme was “Wario” and the pink die was up for grabs!

For our league we had exactly 16 signups, so that was handy! Four groups of 4!

The first round saw “Wario’s Buzzer Beater” where you had to be the quickest correct answer to get the most points.

In the gap between rounds, there was plenty of time for “freeplay”. We saw some Mario Kart on the “other” screen, but the main screen was focused on SilkSong. (Which was really difficult to get pictures of because the screen was so dark!)

Mario Kart in the other room was a good way to get the new person involved 🙂

And at one point John exclaimed that it looked like a lecture on Mario Kart!

Back into the league with Round 2: WarioWare: Move it! The Medusa March.

People found this frustrating to play, but those watching found it really fun!

There was a clear winner this time, so no need for a tie breaker. Drn was the only player to acquire the full 10 points!

More freeplay followed, and in the other room they started an actual board game on Mario Party Jamboree, which took us until the end of the event.

A couple had to leave earlier than time, but we managed to get our group photo in at the end. Credit to me because everyone else wanted to be in it this time 😛
