We had a collaboration event with Storiel this time. The weather was sunny but not too hot, and the event was shorter than our usual timeframe. running 11-3, we decided to just focus on the league session, and let the “freeplay” flow around us.

People started drifting in from 11am, and it wasn’t long before we set up for round 1 of the league!
It was a mystery until the event opened, but today’s “Olympics” theme was the Boxing. 1v1 boxing. Simple but some were over quicker than others. The really enthusiastic ones had a proper arm workout too!

There was a bit of a gap then where some of us nipped out to get some lunch. This was a perfect gap for some freeplay. There was a very black and white game on in the mid afternoon..Lorelei and the Laser Eyes

Before long, it was time for Round 2 of the league!
ARMs was released 7 years ago this May, and each session’s winner gets a “stress boxing glove” as one of the prizes, so we had to feature it at some point!
Drn sprung into action as he originally played it (We had a national tournament for it 7 years ago!) and was giving everyone a run through of all the characters and what their sub weapons were.

Then the 5 groups of pairs battled it out on “Spring Stadium” (more arm workouts!)

We had a 3 way tie breaker at the end, or which we were able to do 3 player ARMs everyone for themselves!
John came out on top and won the boxing glove and the fiver!
Just in time to do the raffle. There were a couple of puzzles to win this time! (plus a couple of added keyrings not in the picture)

We ended just after 3pm!
Off to the beach!
It was fascinating when we arrived at (Benllech) beach, as the beach was misty!

but Jen identified a circle of sun in the middle of the beach, so we put a blanket down and based from there. The tide was out far enough, that there was plenty of beach to enjoy. It was lovely that so many of the group chose to join us! Most of us got an ice cream from the hut before going on the beach itself though!
We were on the beach until teatime, playing catch/frisbee/bat & ball, but also a few went for a paddle, one even went for a swim! Some just sat at “base” having a catch up, and one of the kids wanted to be buried in sand!

I think it’s safe to say a great time was had by all, and by teatime, the mist started to clear to reveal and lovely blue sky. Some of us ended the day with a Chippy tea from Finneys!
Don’t forget there’s no event in June, so we’ll see you on Saturday 13th July (venue TBC)
