We set up bright and early, and did the Asda run. It’s confirmed, the “Brookies” are to die for!
People started trickling in around 11am, and soon after, the unusual sight of 3DSes were seen, and people were STREETPASSING?! (Did you know that’s the reason we started this community in the first place – the swapping of those puzzle pieces!)
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe was high on the agenda, and our top player Glyn was put through his paces in an 8 race session. Rhodri didn’t make it to the qualifier, but he was a formidable opponent to Glyn today. Glyn still came out on top though!
After some had done a lunch run, we got stuck into the virtual buffet: Kirby’s Dream Buffet!
Lots of fry ups, cake, ice cream and doughnuts later, we found our clear winner: Freya!
She’d knocked everything out of the park by her first attempt, and she was the second person to have a go, so people attempting it after tried in vain to reach the heights! We let everyone have a second go as we had the time, but still no one got close, not even Freya herself! Paul nearly tied with her at the end, but he lost out on one bonus prize, which cost him those much needed points! Freya bagged herself an IOU for a free copy of the game 🙂
We went back to playing Mario Kart after that, but on the other screen we saw Puyo Puyo Tetris, Smash, Cult of the Lamb and Warioware to name a few.
There was also a table of Card players playing Digimon.
Lots of fun was had, (nearly) everyone grabbed a mario hat for the photo, and Glyn appeared as a photobombing mario plush instead of himself!
