Back in our usual venue, we set up in good time, and people slowly rolled in after 11am. The freeplay got started straight away with some Pacman Vs. It was John’s birthday and that was his first game of choice.
We had cupcakes for the occasion too, the chocolate ones were particularly popular!
Pacman vs rotated amongst the small group at the front of the room, meanwhile another group congregated towards the back of the room with portable Switches and their phones.
There was also a board game version of “Cuphead” that appeared, and had some catchy music going periodically!
We put the Just Dance tournament after lunch to give people chance to get their food, and then maybe warm up for the dancing.
One person was dancing pretty much all afternoon!
The Just Dance Tournament had 8 entries so that was handy (Jen stepped in as the 8th player!)
We went straight in with the semi final, which had 3 set dances:
Song 1 – Disco Inferno by The Tramps (Easy Difficulty)
Song 2 – Walking on Sunshine by Top Culture (Medium Difficulty)
Song 3 – Dynamite by BTS (Medium Difficulty)
It was close for the final but we had our top four. The scores ranged from 20,000 to 30,000!
Dylan and Rhys were the judges, and they awarded their bonus points to the most passionate each song. One person was particularly passionate, but the scoring on the game excelled the bonus points…
The Final was close, but in the end, Kalub and Liesel grabbed the top spots!

After the tournament was over, there was some more dancing, and then we switched to some games of the newer DLC on Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Rhodri was on the big screen, and everyone else was playing portable. We did a couple of sessions with custom items – including just red shells/blue shells, and despite the chaos, Rhodri still came out top!
We finished the games with some Tetris Effect: Connected on the big screen.
The raffle was drawn, and we forgot the group photo!
